Saturday’s interval class

Hi guys,

Find below the H.I.I.T (High intensity interval training) tabata style class that we did this morning:

Warm up 5 minutes:
v steps, squats, grapevine, run in place.

Round 1: 20 seconds on 10 seconds off for a total of 4 minutes

– Squats
– jumping jacks
– Squats
– jumping jack

Repeat 2 times

Active rest 1 minute meaning stay standing and moving!

Round 2: 20 seconds on 10 seconds off for a total of 4 minutes

– high knees
– up and down touch ground
– high knees
– up and down touch ground

Repeat 2 times

Active rest 1 minute

Round 3: 20 seconds on 10 seconds off for a total of 4 minutes

– alternating front kicks
– burpees
– alternating front kicks
– burpees

Repeat 2 times

Active rest 1 minute

Round 4: 20 seconds on 10 seconds off for a total of 4 minutes

– forward lunges
– Alternating leg and arm up toe tap
– forward lunges
– alternating leg and arm up toe tap

Repeat 2 times

Active rest 1 minute

Cool down and stretch 5 minutes

High intensity workouts are short and very effective when done correctly.
It burns a lot of calories during and especially after while you are resting on the couch watching TV.
EPOC or Exercise post oxygen consumption is at its max and allows your body to burn a lot of calories after the workout while it’s getting back to it’s steady state.
